Apple's AI talent continues to lose blood, and the head of robotics research has switched to Meta.

Apple (AAPL. O) 's head of artificial intelligence robotics research has left to join Meta Platforms (META. O), the latest example of the company's AI brain drain. Meta confirmed on Tuesday that Jian Zhang has joined its robotics studio. Three other AI researchers are leaving Apple's internal Big Language Modeling team, according to people familiar with the matter. The latest wave of departures, which took place last week, is understood to include John Peebles, Nan Du and Zhao Men. They are all from Apple's Basic Models team, which has seen about 10 members leave in recent weeks, including the head of the team. The team was at the heart of developing Apple's intelligence platform, which was launched last year as an important move by the company to catch up with the AI wave.
