On September 2nd, Pete Davidson and Kathy Affleck will star in Killing Satoshi, a conspiracy thriller directed by Bourne director Doug Liman. The film is inspired by the mysterious story surrounding the anonymous founder of Bitcoin and is expected to be released in 2026.
The film, described by producer Ryan Kavanaugh as a fintech drama akin to the social network, will blend political intrigue, sophisticated espionage and global power struggles to depict governments, Wall Street and Silicon Valley battling for control of the world's monetary system.
"Killing Satoshi Nakamoto" will be director Lehman's return to the genre after "The Smiths" and "Edge of Tomorrow." The film is expected to start shooting in 2025. The project is being promoted in Toronto and Berlin film markets, and industry sources say its budget is about $6,000 to $70 million.
