According to the data disclosed by Brian Roberts, head of securities product development at the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, after the Securities Supervision Commission approved the offer for sale of virtual asset futures ETFs in Hong Kong on October 31, 2022, three virtual asset futures ETFs investing in bitcoin and ether futures were listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. Since their launch, these ETFs have been favored by investors and have been trading well. The average daily trading volume has increased from HK $8.90 million in 2023 to HK $51.3 million in the first quarter of 2024. At the same time, it has also attracted capital inflows of HK $529 million. As of the end of March 2024, the total market value reached HK $1.20 billion, an increase of 255% year-on-year.
