The latest report from CoinShares shows that digital asset investment products recorded inflows of $2.48 billion last week. In August alone, total inflows reached $4.37 billion, bringing year-to-date inflows to $35.50 billion. The inflows were strong this week, but turned negative following the release of core personal consumption expenditure (PCE) data on Friday. The data failed to support expectations of a rate cut by the Federal Reserve in September, disappointing digital asset investors. This, combined with the recent momentum of falling prices, caused total assets under management to fall 10% from its recent peak to $219 billion.
Ethereum continued to outperform Bitcoin, attracting inflows of $1.40 billion, compared to $748 million for Bitcoin. In August, Ethereum accumulated inflows of $3.95 billion, while Bitcoin outflows of $301 million. Meanwhile, Solana and XRP continued to benefit from optimism surrounding the outlook for ETF issuance in the US, with inflows of $177 million and $134 million, respectively.
