Hong Kong stocks afternoon review: Hang Seng Index rose 1.77% to stand at 25,500 points after Alibaba soared more than 17%

September 1st news, today's Hong Kong stock market opened sharply higher to maintain a high level of volatility, the Hang Seng index intraday strong break 25500 points. As of the noon close, the Hang Seng index rose 1.77%, reported 25520.45 points; Hang Seng Technology Index rose 1.77%, reported 5775.01 points. On the plate, the collective outbreak of technology stocks, Alibaba (09988.HK) soared 17% after the performance of leading technology stocks, Baidu (09888.HK) rose more than 3%, JD.com (09618.HK) rose more than 2%. SMIC International (00981.HK) rose nearly 5%, the company was planning to issue class A shares to buy a minority stake in subsidiary SMIC North and suspended trading. Gold stocks generally rose, with China Gold International (02099.HK) up more than 11% and China Silver Group (00815.HK) up more than 8%. Chinese brokerage stocks underperformed, with CITIC Construction Investment Securities (06066.HK) down nearly 4% and China-Thailand Futures (01461.HK) down more than 2%. Automobile stocks weakened collectively, with BYD shares (01211.HK) down nearly 7% and Guangzhou Automotive Group (02238.HK) down nearly 5%.
