According to Peck ShieldAlert monitoring, a total of about 16 major crypto attacks were recorded in August 2025, with a total loss of $163 million, an increase of 15% from $142 million in July. Among them, Btc Turk suffered its second major security bugs in more than a year. After the theft of $54 million in June 2024, it lost more than $50 million again this month, and the cumulative loss has exceeded $100 million.
The top five security incidents in August 2025 include: a Bitcoin holder lost $91.40 million; Btc Turk lost $54 million; ODIN FUN lost $7 million; Better Bank lost $5 million; and CrediX Finance lost $4.50 million.
