According to Dune Analytics, Pump.fun has spent more than $62.60 million to buy back its native token PUMP. The buyback has absorbed more than 16.50 billion tokens, with an average buyback price of $0.003785. The platform aims to stabilize price action and reduce selling pressure.
The buyback strategy uses the revenue generated by the platform, mainly the fees collected from users' coins (especially meme coins), to conduct daily token buybacks. Dune Analytics data shows that the daily buyback amount has remained between $1.30 million and $2.30 million in the past week.
According to DefiLlama, Pump.fun have generated over $775 million in revenue since the platform launched. Notably, the platform experienced a significant drop in revenue between July 28 and August 3. During this period, Pump.fun earned just $1.72 million per week, the lowest since March 2024.
Meanwhile, the buyback program seems to be working. PUMP has gained over 12% in the past month and about 9% in the past week. The token is currently trading at $0.003522, up 54% from its August low of $0.002282.
