In the Treasury market, the Trump effect has started to play out in recent weeks. Investors in anticipation of a rate cut have snapped up two-year Treasuries, pushing down yields on those bonds. Those expecting rates to stay high over time have sold 30-year Treasuries, pushing yields higher. The spread between 2-year and 30-year yields, a key component of the yield curve, hovers near its highest level since early 2022, according to Dow Jones market data. Still, yields on long-term government bonds are trading safely below 5%. (Golden Ten)
