US trading app Webull launched a cryptocurrency service in Australia on Wednesday, offering users hundreds of different digital assets in a move that experts say will force local exchanges to lower fees or risk losing customers.
The launch was made possible through Coinbase Prime, making Australia Webull's third crypto market after the United States and Brazil. According to the statement, the company promised to offer a spread of 30 basis points.
Industry experts predict that Webull's entry will place competitive pressure on Australia's cryptocurrency exchange market, as local transaction fees remain high compared to international markets.
