Shanghai: Accelerate the reconstruction of urban villages in the city

On August 27th, the General Office of the Shanghai Municipal People's Government issued the implementation opinions on speeding up the reconstruction of urban villages in the city. The opinions mentioned that through the overall renovation of the project, the implementation of planning points, and rectification and improvement, multiple measures should be taken to demolish and build urban villages, dismantle and integrate them or improve them. The overall renovation of the project can be implemented by means of reserve transformation, entrusted transformation, rural collective economic organizations to transform themselves or the introduction of high-quality development entities for cooperative transformation. For urban villages whose planned uses are municipal public welfare facilities, public service facilities, green space, etc., the planning and implementation points should be implemented in combination with the planning and implementation sequence and the progress of project construction. Involving style protection, farmers' new villages or urban villages outside the development boundary, rectification and improvement should be implemented.
