Chairperson of the Ethereum Foundation: The traditional model of large Japanese companies is hindering Web3 innovation, calling on large companies to change the status quo

Aya Miyaguchi, chairperson of the Ethereum Foundation, said at the WebX2025 conference held in Japan on August 26 that the current closed and vertically integrated model of large Japanese companies has seriously hindered innovation and development in the Web3 field. In the current Web3 wave, this traditional model limits the growth space of startups. She stressed that large Japanese companies urgently need to change the status quo and actively create open cooperation platforms for startups to help them grow.
In Aya Miyaguchi's view, the Web3 ecosystem should be like an "infinite garden", where everyone can participate and contribute, and this requires big companies and start-ups to work together. Happily, she acknowledges the active attempts of companies such as Sony to transform. She said that Sony has begun to break through its own limitations and actively attract external innovation forces to cooperate with start-ups.
Aya Miyaguchi called on young people and start-up companies to fully stimulate the vitality of the Web3 field and build a more open and inclusive "infinite garden" ecosystem.
