On August 25th, according to the Wall Street Journal, Taylor Thomson, heir to the Thomson Reuters media empire, invested in cryptocurrencies after listening to the advice of a fortune teller, and eventually lost more than $80 million.
Thomson is understood to have invested with the assistance of former best friend Ashley Richardson, who managed Thomson's $140 million crypto portfolio during the 2021 bull market. Thomson has filed a $25 million lawsuit against Richardson and Persistence, alleging secret commission arrangements and misrepresentations.
