The Ethereum Foundation has released Protocol Update 002, which describes the progress of data availability sampling (DAS) research and its importance for secure and scalable data availability (DA) scaling.
This content update includes: Fusaka launched PeerDAS, a new data architecture that allows blob scaling beyond today's throughput levels, from 6 blobs/block to 48 blobs/block; Blob Parameter Only (BPO) forks will gradually increase the number of mainnet blobs and provide support through incremental peer-to-peer bandwidth optimization; Glamsterdam plans to adopt advanced network technologies and iterate on the PeerDAS design to further scale; memory pool sharding technology can preserve the value of Ethereum as data scales; research on next-generation DAS will initiate the evolution of secure DA scaling.
