Analysts at Bytetree Asset Management point out that bitcoin's annualized volatility has fallen sharply to 38% from nearly 200% a decade ago, putting its volatility characteristics on par with blue-chip stocks such as Starbucks or Goldman Sachs. "Bitcoin, once the unruly son of finance, is showing signs of maturity as its wild volatility fades, forcing speculative traders to find new playgrounds," the analyst said.
With the influx of buy-and-hold investors on Wall Street, the world's largest cryptocurrency is behaving more and more like a traditional blue-chip stock, signalling that the cryptocurrency market is entering a new stage of development.
