The developers of XRP Ledger are rebutting a recent ranking by Kaiko, a research firm, that ranks XRP Ledger as the last most secure of more than a dozen blockchain networks. The results reignite a long-running debate about the degree of decentralization and overall credibility of the cryptocurrency platform.
In Kaiko's "Blockchain Ecosystem Ranking" released on August 13, XRP Ledger's security score was 41 out of 100, ranking at the bottom of the list of 15 blockchains. Ethereum topped the list with 83 points, followed by Ethereum's two-layer network Arbitrum and one-layer network Solana.
However, Ayo Akinyele, head of engineering at RippleX, said in an interview that XRP Ledger's low score is misleading, and stressed that the network has a long and stable security record.
