On-chain detective ZachXBT disclosed in its personal channel that on August 19, 2025, a victim suffered a social engineering attack and lost 783 bitcoins (about $91.40 million) while the trading platform and hardware wallet customer service were impersonated.
The stolen funds began to be dispersed, and the attackers made multiple deposits to Wasabi. Coincidentally, the theft coincided with the one-year anniversary of the $243 million theft by Genesis creditors.
