Fed meeting notes high inflation concerns, markets focus on Powell speech

The dollar edged higher after the Federal Reserve's July meeting notes showed that policymakers' concerns about high inflation outweighed concerns about a slowdown in the labour market. "Most participants viewed upside risks to inflation as higher than risks to a slowdown in the labour market," the minutes noted. Analysts said the meeting notes were "somewhat dated" and market reaction was relatively limited, with the focus now turning to Fed Chairperson Jerome Powell's speech at the Jackson Hole symposium.
