The Federal Reserve released its July meeting notes, which noted that recent stock price gains and narrowing credit spreads suggest that the market believes that the overall U.S. economy remains resilient; however, financial marekt appears to have begun to distinguish between companies based on the size and quality of their earnings. S & P 500 valuations continue to be above their long-term average, largely due to optimism about the potential for large technology companies to benefit from further adoption of artificial intelligence (AI). However, small-cap index valuations, while rising between meetings, remain below their historical averages.
