The Wall Street Journal reporter Nick Timiraos, who is known as the mouthpiece of the Federal Reserve, posted on social media that economists, after converting CPI and PPI data into PCE indicators, expect core PCE inflation to be 0.28% in July (3.4% annualized rate), which will take the year-on-year increase to 2.9%. Overall PCE inflation is expected to be more moderate, rising 0.21% month-on-month and maintaining a year-on-year increase of 2.6%.
