According to China News Network, the Public Security Bureau of Duyun City, Guizhou Province has explored a new practical model in handling the preservation of virtual currencies involved in the case. Since China strictly banned virtual currency transactions in 2021, public security organs in various places have faced technical difficulties in preserving and disposing of virtual currencies involved in the case.
During the handling of the case, Duyun Public Security found that some of the alleged offenders converted the illegally obtained stolen money into virtual currency. In response to such situations, the local public security organs adopted cold wallet technology to physically isolate and store the seized virtual currency involved in the case, and uniformly stored it in the Duyun City Property and Property Co-management Center, waiting for the final judgment of the court.
