Sergei Leshchenko, advisor to the head of the Ukrainian presidential office, issued a statement on social media on August 16 on ways and means to end the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. Sergei Leshchenko said that Ukraine firmly believes that a ceasefire must be achieved first, and then the follow-up negotiation process can be advanced. Leshchenko made it clear that Ukraine's position is very clear, that is, to cease fire first, and then talk about other things. The reason is that if negotiations start before a ceasefire, Ukraine will face a huge risk of extortion. Only by actually realizing a ceasefire can we open up the necessary space for diplomatic activities. (Jin Ten)
