Police in Recife, Brazil, have arrested four suspects in the kidnapping of a retired professor's woman. The incident took place in March this year. The victim's son, who worked in cryptocurrency in Portugal, paid a ransom of five bitcoins, worth about 3.30 million reais (about 600,000 dollars) at the time. Police said the suspects included two men and two women who had followed the victim's son through social media before the kidnapping. The incident reflects that kidnapping and cryptocurrency extortion cases are not unique around the world.
