On August 14th, citing Ukraine's "Kyiv Independent" report on the 14th, the US Treasury announced that the US will temporarily exempt some of the sanctions against Russia, allowing related transactions required for the preparations for the Russian-US summit in Alaska, in order to advance the preparations for the summit. On August 13 local time, the US Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control issued a temporary license on the same day, under the framework of the "Russia Harmful Foreign Activities Sanctions Program" and the "Ukraine/Russia-related Sanctions Regulations", temporarily allowing some commercial activities, but not involving the unfreezing of any frozen Russian assets. The authorization is valid until August 20, and the scope of exemption is limited to commercial transactions that provide necessary support for the preparation of the summit.
