Coinbase has announced that it has completed the acquisition of Deribit, officially becoming the world's most comprehensive cryptocurrency derivatives platform. The acquisition comes just after Deribit set records for monthly trading volume and revenue - more than $185 billion in July 2025 and about $59 billion in unpositioned squaring contracts on the platform today - and amid growing enthusiasm for cryptocurrency options around the world.
