The Trump administration is considering 11 candidates to succeed Federal Reserve Chairperson Jerome Powell when his term expires next May, according to two administration officials who spoke on condition of anonymity, CNBC reported, including three people who had never been publicly nominated before. The new members include David Zervos, chief market strategist at Jefferies, Larry Lindsey, a former Fed governor, and Rick Rieder, chief investment officer for global fixed income at BlackRock. They are on the list with eight candidates previously confirmed by CNBC, including Bowman, vice chairperson of Federal Reserve supervision, Waller, and Jefferson, vice chairperson of the Federal Reserve. Officials also confirmed that the list of candidates included Mark Summerlin, a former economic adviser in the Bush administration, Logan, the president of the Dallas Fed, and Brad, the former president of the St. Louis Fed. Officials described a "deliberative process" in which Treasury Secretary Vincent would meet with all the candidates, sift through the list, and hand the final list to the president for a decision. The size of the list and the process described suggest that a decision is not imminent and could take considerable time. But officials would not provide a timeline.
