Michael McLean, a senior research analyst for public policy at Barclays, pointed out that Trump's nomination of Stephen Millan to replace Coogler could be a dark horse candidate for the next Federal Reserve chairperson. If approved by the Senate, Millan could remain in office indefinitely after his term expires. Trump could have left Coogler's seat vacant, but he chose to quickly nominate Milan, which has won Trump's trust and has always been a firm supporter of the president and his policies. In addition, several former Federal Reserve chairpeople, including Greenspan, Bernanke and Yellen, have served as chairpeople of the White House Council of Economic Advisers. And compared with other candidates, Milan will have the advantages of having a say in monetary policy and voting power on the FOMC. ( Golden Ten)
