Michael Saylor, executive chairperson and co-founder of MicroStrategy, believes that the SEC will classify Ethereum as a security this summer and reject the related spot ETF applications filed by multiple asset managers, including BlackRock.
Saylor made the prediction in a post from social media during a presentation at the MicroStrategy World 2024 conference on May 2. He further predicted that other cryptocurrencies "under the stack" would also receive unregistered names, including BNB, SOL, XRP, and ADA. Saylor asserted that Bitcoin alone is fully recognized by institutions. He referred to BTC as a universal institutional-grade crypto asset and said there would be no other.
