Galaxy Digital Inc. (NASDAQ: GLXY) (TSX: GLXY) announced today that Matt Friedrich will join the company as Chief Legal Officer, effective September 8. Friedrich will be responsible for Galaxy Digital's global legal and compliance matters, including regulatory interactions, corporate governance, litigation and public policy. He will report directly to CEO and founder Mike Novogratz and will be a core member of Galaxy Digital's senior leadership team.
Prior to joining Galaxy Digital, Friedrich held a number of senior in-house legal positions. He served as executive vice president and general counsel for global legal, compliance and government affairs at cognizant Technology Solutions, and as chief corporate counsel at Chevron Corporation. He also served as a partner at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and Boies, Schiller & Flexner, representing multinational companies in cross-border investigations, litigation and compliance matters. Earlier in his career, Friedrich was a federal prosecutor with 13 years at the Department of Justice, ending his public career as acting assistant attorney general in the criminal division.
