Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Gaza is about to be demilitarized and outlined five principles for Israel to end the war, namely Hamas disarming, releasing all hostages, demilitarizing the Gaza Strip, Israel imposing "overriding security control" in the Gaza Strip, and establishing an "alternative civilian government" that is neither Hamas nor the Palestinian Authority. Netanyahu also claimed that Israel had "no choice" but to "get the job done" and "defeat" Hamas. He said 70-75% of Gaza is under Israeli military control, but Hamas still has two strongholds, one in Gaza City and the other in the "central camp". Previously, the Israeli Security Cabinet instructed the Israel Defense Forces to "dismantle" the two strongholds. Mr. Netanyahu said that was the "best way" to end the war, adding that Israel would allow civilians to travel to designated safe zones where they would receive "adequate" food, security and medical care.
