On August 8th, the Polish media Onet reported that they have learned the details of the Ukraine peace plan that the US special envoy Witkov gave to Russian President Vladimir Putin during the talks in Moscow. Although Onet did not disclose the source, the report said that the proposal was coordinated by European countries. The US proposal includes: 1. Russia and Ukraine sign a ceasefire agreement, but not a complete peace agreement; 2. The United States considers actually recognizing the newly controlled territory of Russia, but put the issue on hold for 49 or 99 years; 3. Lift most of the sanctions against Russia and resume energy cooperation in the long run, i.e. importing Russian gas and oil. Meanwhile, the report said that the proposal does not include preventing NATO's eastward expansion - one of Moscow's consistent demands. In addition. Russia will not receive any commitment to stop military support for Ukraine, but this is acceptable to Russia.
