According to Cryptonews, the governor of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU), Andriy Pyshnyy, expressed support for the legalization of cryptocurrencies but not as a means of payment. He stressed that the legalization of cryptocurrencies should not weaken the effectiveness of the central bank's monetary policy tools.
At the same time, Pyshnyy revealed that the NBU is testing a digital currency (CBDC) architecture model and is preparing for a pilot project. Considering the European integration process in Ukraine, the NBU is particularly concerned about the development of the digital euro project and is currently working with the European Central Bank, Deutsche Bundesbank, the National Bank of Belgium, the Bank of France, and the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
