Trump announces nomination of Stephen Milan as Federal Reserve governor

On August 8th, President Trump of the United States: I am very honored to announce that I have selected Stephen Millan, the current Chairperson of the Council of Economic Advisers, to the seat just vacated on the Federal Reserve Board of Governors until January 31, 2026. In the meantime, we will continue to search for a long-term replacement for the Federal Reserve position. Stephen holds a doctorate in economics from Harvard University and did an excellent job in my first administration. He has been with me since the beginning of my second term, and his expertise in the field of economics is unparalleled - he will do an excellent job. Congratulations Stephen!
