OpenAI officially releases GPT-5

OpenAI on Thursday announced the launch of its most advanced artificial intelligence model to date, GPT-5, after more than two years of development and many setbacks and delays. Using the new technology is "really like talking to a PhD-level expert in a field," Chief Executive Officer Sam Altman said in a conference call with reporters on Wednesday. He particularly emphasized that the model allows anyone to create software applications with just a simple English prompt - a process often referred to as "vibe coding."
