A dinner for senior administration officials at the residence of Vice President Vance, which discussed topics including the Trump administration's response to the Epstein case, was canceled after the news leaked, according to people familiar with the matter. A spokesperson for Vance said they had not planned to hold the dinner, which was exposed by CNN. "There has never been a meeting at the vice president's residence to discuss Epstein's response strategy," said William Martin, a spokesperson for Vance. The Trump administration has been trying for weeks to mitigate the political fallout from the Epstein case. Trump has promised to release documents related to the Epstein case if he is re-elected president. However, in July, the Justice Department said the list of Epstein's clients did not exist, angering Trump supporters who demanded more details be released.
