A spokesperson for Vance said they had not planned to hold the dinner, which was exposed by CNN. "There has never been a meeting at the vice president's residence to discuss Epstein's response strategy," said William Martin, a spokesperson for Vance. The Trump administration has been trying for weeks to mitigate the political fallout from the Epstein case. Trump has promised to release documents related to the Epstein case if he is re-elected president.
