OpenAI publishes low-cost open-weighted language model

OpenAI has released two open-weighted language models, named GPT-OSS-120B and GPT-OSS-20B. The two models are designed to provide developers and researchers with lower-cost, easier-to-use options. OpenAI says it has conducted extensive security training and testing of the two models. By "open-weighted" models, it means that their parameters are open to the public. Such models can provide greater transparency and controllability, but they are different from "open-source models", which make the full source code open, allowing users to use and modify it freely.
