Analysis: The S & P 500 has been above its 20-day moving average for 68 consecutive days, and market volatility is expected to intensify soon

The Kobeissi Letter released its latest analysis. Is the volatility in the U.S. stock market about to increase? The VIX volatility index has fallen about 45 points since April to about 15 points, its lowest level since mid-February. In addition, the S & P 500 Index has traded above its 20-day moving average for 68 consecutive days, the longest stretch since the 1990s.
Historically, markets have been less volatile between May and July. However, starting in August, the VIX typically gains about 5 points, or about 30%, over the next 3 months. History suggests that market volatility is expected to intensify.
