A new round of tariffs imposed by US President Donald Trump on a number of countries last week, including 35 per cent on imports from Canada, 50 per cent on Brazil, 25 per cent on India and 39 per cent on Switzerland, is "pretty much set" and will not be adjusted in the current negotiations, US Trade Representative Greg Greer said on August 3 local time. Some of the tariffs are set based on bilateral trade surpluses and deficits, and "these rates are pretty much fixed", Greer said. (Jin Ten)
