Optimism said in a post on the X platform that the Optimism Collective Deliberative Processes will be applied to the Retro Public Funding Round 4. During this round, it will introduce a new governance experiment "Deliberative Processes".
Optimism Governance takes an iterative approach on the road to open meta-governance, transferring most governance responsibilities from the Optimism Foundation to the Optimism Collective, making the Foundation one of many contributors proposing system changes.
The deliberation process helps Optimism capture a representative group of people or customers engaged in governance decisions and provides space for thoughtful discussion. Some hypotheses are tested in each round and the results inform the design of future rounds and/or other parts of the governance system.
