In an interview on Friday local time, US President Donald Trump revisited the question of whether or not Federal Reserve Chairperson Jerome Powell will remain. He said he would "probably" not remove Powell before his term expires because he has been advised not to do so on the grounds that "it would disrupt the markets." "I wouldn't hesitate for a second to remove him," Trump said. "But they say it would disrupt the markets, and he's going to be gone in seven or eight months anyway, and then I'll replace him with my own." Earlier on Friday, Trump also said that Powell should resign like Federal Reserve Governor Adriana Kugler.
