The UK's Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) announced today that it will allow retail investors to participate in the trading of crypto exchange-traded notes (crypto ETNs). The policy will come into effect on October 8, 2025. According to the regulations, the relevant products must be listed and traded on UK investment exchanges accredited by the FCA, and are subject to financial promotion rules. It is worth noting that such products are not covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS).
