According to PeckShield, there were 17 major cryptocurrency security incidents in July 2025, with a total loss of $142 million, an increase of 27.2% from $111.60 million in June. Notably, GMX hackers have returned about $40.5 million in crypto assets.
The top five security incidents in July were: cryptocurrency exchange CoinDCX lost $44.2 million, decentralized exchange GMX lost $42 million (recovered), BigONE exchange lost $28 million, WOOX lost $12 million, and Future Protocol lost $4.2 million.
