The White House is set to embark on a massive $200 million renovation of its east wing, according to Politico, the latest in a series of Trump renovations to the executive mansion. White House press secretary Leavitt announced on Thursday that construction would begin in September on a White House state dining room of about 90,000 square feet with a capacity of 650 people. Mr. Trump and other "patriotic donors" will foot the bill for the $200 million renovation, according to the White House website. Mr. Leavitt said the east wing would also be "modernised", with all office areas, including the first lady's office, temporarily relocated during construction. It is the latest and most expensive in a series of recent White House renovations under the Trump administration. Mr. Leavitt said the project was expected to be completed by the end of Mr. Trump's term.
