Analysts still expect the Federal Reserve to cut interest rates only once this year

With the pressure unlikely to have much of an impact on the economy, my base case remains that the resilience of the labor market and continued tariff-induced price pressures keep the Fed on the sidelines for now, said analyst Isabelle. Still expecting the Fed to likely cut rates by only 25 basis points this year, or at its December meeting.
