Sichuan court hears stablecoin scalping foreign exchange case, involving more than 200 million yuan

According to a typical case released by the Supreme Court, the Sichuan Leshan Intermediate Court upgraded a case of illegal foreign exchange trading using USDT. From 2020 to 2021, Wan Mouyuan and others illegally traded foreign exchange through "RMB-USDT-USD", involving more than 234 million yuan. The court found that it constituted the crime of illegal business operation, and the main offender Wan Mouyuan was sentenced to 13 years and 6 months in prison and fined 1.14 million yuan. Other defendants were also sentenced to prison.
