The White House is expected to release a key regulatory report on the crypto industry on Wednesday, dubbed the "regulatory bible" by the industry, which is expected to clarify the federal government's attitude towards digital assets and provide a framework for congressional legislation. The report, which originated from an executive order signed by Trump in January, was drafted by the President's Digital Assets Task Force, which includes Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, and SEC Chairperson Paul Atkins.
The report could cover tax policy, stablecoins, the regulatory framework for tokenized securities, and even the recycling or withdrawal of old regulatory guidance. Moreover, while the draft report does not currently address the Bitcoin Strategic Reserve, which was proposed by Trump in March with the goal of establishing a national digital asset reserve without increasing the burden on taxpayers, sources said it could be added on an interim basis.
A number of industry leaders will participate in Wednesday's briefing, which organizations such as The Digital Chamber and the Blockchain Association see as an important milestone in advancing U.S. crypto policy.
