Rakbank has partnered with digital asset infrastructure provider Bitpanda to launch cryptocurrency brokerage services through its mobile app, becoming the first traditional bank in the UAE to offer cryptocurrency trading to retail clients.
Users can buy, sell and exchange cryptocurrencies directly from their Rakbank checking or savings accounts through dirhams, eliminating foreign currency transfer fees. The service is currently only available to select customers and will gradually expand its user base in the coming months.
