On July 28, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun hosted a regular press conference. According to a Reuters reporter's question, regarding trade negotiations, the European Union said that the agreement they reached with the United States was not ideal, but it was the best agreement they could reach. So, if there is only a sub-optimal agreement on the table, is China willing to accept it? Or, if necessary, will China withdraw from the negotiations? In this regard, Guo Jiakun said: "Regarding the trade agreement between the United States and the European Union you mentioned, I would like to say that China has always advocated that all parties resolve economic and trade differences through equal dialogue and consultation, maintain a good environment for international economic and trade cooperation, and abide by the rules of the WTO. At the same time, we firmly oppose any party reaching a deal at the expense of China's interests."
