Bank of America: Trade deal reduces uncertainty, Bank of Japan may adjust policy tone this week

Bank of America economists said in a note that the Bank of Japan could signal a shift to a less dovish stance. The Bank of Japan is widely expected to leave its policy rate unchanged at 0.5 percent at its monetary policy meeting this week. But it is likely to take a less dovish tone given Japan's recent trade deal with the United States, which reduced a huge amount of uncertainty that the BoJ has pointed to as a reason to delay tightening.
