According to Chosun Ilbo, An Dujie, a member of the Democratic Party of South Korea, will officially submit the draft "Law on the Issuance and Circulation of Value Stable Digital Assets" today. This is the first systematic legislative proposal in South Korea for the issuance, circulation and supervision of Korean won-denominated stablecoins. It is more special project than the stablecoin provisions involved in the Basic Law of Digital Assets of Member Min Byung-deok last month.
It is worth noting that the ruling National Power Party lawmaker Kim Eun-hye was also disclosed by the "Daily Economic News" that he will submit a similar bill this week, forming a bipartisan legislative race. The special project bill first proposed by the Democratic Party marks that the South Korean legislature has entered the substantive operation stage of building a regulatory framework for stablecoins, or laying a legal foundation for the subsequent issuance of Korean won stablecoins in compliance.
