Global artificial intelligence innovation index report 2025

At the Science Frontier Plenary Session of the 2025 World Artificial Intelligence Conference held on the 26th, the "Global Artificial Intelligence Innovation Index Report 2025" was officially released. The "Index Report 2025" shows that the United States and China are firmly in the first echelon, with a total score significantly ahead of other countries. In 2024, the United States ranked the highest in the world with a total score of 77.97, and China ranked second with a total score of 58.01. Compared with 2023, the overall development gap between China and the United States shows a narrowing trend. The score difference between the two countries narrowed from 22.02 points in 2023 to 19.96 points in 2024. Combined with the results of the index analysis, the report forms several observations on the development trend of global artificial intelligence: first, the global large-scale model innovation force continues to concentrate, and the performance gap has narrowed significantly; second, AI infrastructure building has become a focus of attention, and the gap between the north and the south has widened. It is urgent to promote the construction of global capabilities; third, artificial intelligence venture capital has rebounded, and capital has gathered in advantageous countries and leading enterprises; fourth, open-source ecology has flourished globally, and developing countries have actively integrated.
